I Went Too Far
I went too far. I know I did.
Why I don’t know. And I’m not really sure how.
But I went too far.
I promised myself I wouldn’t. Not again.
But I went to extremes again.
I broke my heart.
I am sure that if you knew, you would be sorry.
You might feel responsible.
But this time it’s all me.
I knew better. I really did.
I’m not sure I cared, though. Not that I knew.
I cared for you. More than I want to say.
More than I should have, I think.
